Imperial sweep Complexity to make BLAST Premier Spring Finals Semis
The two Americas representatives faced off in the Quarter-Finals of the BLAST Premier Spring Finals in Washington, D.C. A two-mapper series ended up with the Brazilian squad emerging victorious, taking the Semi-Finals berth.
The match started on Vertigo with VINI's pistol round triple with the USP-S, which was immediately answered by the Complexity side. Imperial still maintained control early in the half, taking an 8-2 lead. Complexity's attack finally came back with a couple of rounds, but Imperial walked away with an 11-4 lead. JT was the star of the second pistol round, and he led his team all the way to a tied game as FaNg was having a great game. Fallen's troops were finally able to take a couple more rounds, pulling ahead to a 14-12 lead, and despite coL pushing up to 14 themselves, Imperial was able to close the map out.
The series then moved on to Overpass. JT's crew took the pistol win, but Imperial took over the game, putting up 12 rounds in the half as JOTA popped off individually. coL's own T-side started off well with a pistol conversion, but once guns came out, the Brazilians won 4 consecutive rounds to take the win at 16-6.
Imperial now goes up against Heroic in the Semi-Finals. The Danish squad has been the most consistent team in 2023 but has struggled in pressure situations. Will Imperial be able to take yet another scalp?
