Heroic edge out Imperial to book BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023 grand finals spot

The Danes secure finals spot after a thrilling series

Heroic are headed to the finals of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023 after they took down Imperial in a three-map thriller in the semi-finals. The Danes were the heavy favourites and after picking up Imperial's map pick of Overpass, everyone expected Heroic to close out the series on Inferno. The Brazilians though, weren't in a mood to go down easily as they put in a stellar performance on Inferno and took the series to Nuke. The Danes came out on top on Nuke and have secured another finals spot.

The first map was Imperial's pick of Overpass with the Danes starting on the defensive half. The Brazilians picked up the pistol and the following two conversions before Heroic put up their first round. The Danes ended the first half with five straight rounds to take a 8-7 lead with FalleN's quad kill keep the Brazilians in the game, on the very last round of the first half.

Heroic won the second pistol and the two conversions before Imperial won their first CT round. Heroic took a 12-9 lead but Imperial bounced back with four on the trot and it looked like it would be a close game before Heroic on a low buy secured 14. cadiaN's double put the Danes on match point and the captain himself closed the map with a triple kill of his own.

The Brazilians picked up the opening pistol on Heroic's pick of Inferno on the T side and converted five in a row with FalleN coming in with a crucial 1v3 before Heroic put up their first round. chelo's triple opener got Imperial right back into it but the Danes managed to salvage the half with seven rounds on the trot, with cadiaN coming in with a crucial triple kill in round 14 and stavn ending the first half with a 1v2 on the B site to give Heroic an 8-7 lead.

jabbi and sjuush helped Heroic pick up the second pistol and the Danes converted against the force buy and eco from Imperial to take an 11-7 lead. FalleN's triple gave Heroic their first CT round and also broke Heroic's ten-round streak. It was another solid round from FalleN on the B site, as the veteran held his own from dark with an AWP that saw Imperial put up two in a row. Imperial put up seven in a row to take the lead of the map at 14-11. VINI's ninja defuse in a 1v3 helped Imperial move to map point and it was a triple from VINI to close the map at 16-11. VINI was the star for Imperial on Inferno with 32 kills and a 1.74 rating.

The series decider got underway on Nuke with the Brazilians starting on the T side. Imperial picked up the opening pistol but a stavn quad kill on the force buy got Heroic back in the game. The Danes put five in a row to go 5-1 up before the Brazilians got their second T round thanks to a JOTA 1v2. Multiple impactful rounds from stavn which included numerous multi-kills saw Heroic end the first half with a 11-4 lead.

Heroic picked up the second pistol and the eco to take a 13-4 lead before both teams got the guns out. chelo's 1v2 on the A site gave Imperial their first round and the Brazilians got three in a row before a jabbi double entry on the A site put Heroic on 14. Imperial though, pulled it to overtime, winning eight in a row, to take the game to overtime.

Imperial picked up the first round on overtime with a team ace. The Brazilians ended the first half of overtime with a 17-16 lead. jabbi's triple helped Heroic pick up the first round in the second half of overtime 1 and cadiaN's 1v2 saw the Danes secure map point and Heroic finally managed to close out the map at 19-17 and book a spot in the grand finals.
