TEC Arena Connect Pune LAN playoffs conclude
The TEC Arena Connect Pune event kicked off with a one-sided semi-final but a comeback from Marcos Gaming set the tone for a thrilling final and the finals delivered, as the audience was treated to an exciting three-map series in the finals that saw Marcos Gaming edge out 7Sea Esports.
Here are a few moments from the event.
The first semi-final was a clash between two different generations of Counter-Strike with Bhavi and PeXXeR being the IGLs. PeXXeR is widely known for his time at the once dominant, Team Brutality. Even with PeXXeR’s lump-sum LAN experience, Destructive 5 could not overcome 7Sea Esports.
Marcos Gaming, previously known as RANDOM 5, put up their debut win under the new name in semi-finals, facing off against a strong opponent. It was shaping out to be a battle of IGLs as captains on both sides were capable of delivering solid reads and putting up big frags. The match went beyond 30 rounds as regulation wasn't enough to decide a winner. Marcos Gaming however closed out the match in overtime, eliminating 2EZ Gaming and booking their finals spot.
Two of the best in the tournament, DEFAULTER's Marcos Gaming faced Bhavi's 7Sea Esports as the latter spoke about the confidence his team had following a dominant semi-final win.
A number of exhibitors including Dell and Intel, put up stalls showcasing their latest products, giving their potential users a chance to get hands-on experience before. Other tournaments such as Road to Valor and FIFA qualifiers were going on simultaneously, making sure everyone in the audience felt involved.
A thrilling final Bo3 saw Marcos Gaming dethrone the defending champions and win out the tournament. Every map in the series went neck to neck, all the way till the end and ultimately, DEFAULTER and co. edged out 7Sea Esports on Ancient.
The TEC Arena Connect Pune event might be over, but TEC Arena Connect will return soon!
