Liquid sent to Fall Showdown

Astralis have booked their spot in the Royal Arena for the Fall Final after they took down Liquid 2-0 in a one-sided match. For the new European-core Liquid, they are now headed to the Showdown.

First up was Astralis' pick of Overpass and a Patsi triple gave Liquid the opening pistol, starting on the CT side and a Rainwaker quad saw Liquid convert against the eco. The Danes though were on the board as soon as they brought out the guns in round three. A Staehr 1v2 AWP clutch saw Astralis tie the game at 3-3 and broke Liquid's economy. Astralis picked up four in a row but Liquid answered on an eco round to put their fourth on the board. An oSee double saw Liquid tie the score at 5-5. Both sides kept trading rounds as the first half ended with the Danes taking a slender lead at 8-7.

A NAF-FLY double in the second pistol saw Liquid tie the game to kick off the second half. Liquid took the lead after converting against the force buy but a b0RUP quad saw Astralis tie up the game once again. A double Buzz opener and a double from device saw Astralis put up ten first. Triple kills from b0RUP, device and Buzz holding the B site, saw Astralis make it six in a row to secure their 14th. A b0RUP triple mow down at Monster saw Astralis secure map point. Liquid managed two rounds but Astralis closed the map at 16-11. It was b0RUP and device leading the charge for the Danes with 24 and 22 kills.

Impactful Overpass from b0RUP

Liquid's pick was Inferno as Astralis started on the CT side and a Buzz double gave the Danes the first pistol. A device triple on the MP3 saw Astralis go 2-0 up after seeing off Liquid's eco. A blameF and b0RUP A hold saw Astralis keep their lead clean and the Danes were up 5-0 in no time. It took a double NAF-FLY opener for Liquid to get the first round and they converted that one into four. Liquid were all set to tie the game but it was device's AWP from Long that shut down a Liquid short to A execute, with a triple kill. Liquid eventually did tie up the score at 6-6 thanks to a YEKINDAR double opener on A against the pistols. Liquid ended the half with an 8-7 lead.

Top of the scoreboard and an ADR of over 100 on Inferno, device was once again leading from the front for Astralis

Astralis took the second pistol and saw off Liquid's force and eco to take the lead at 10-8. Astralis kicked off the second half with seven in a row to go 14-8. A device opener on the B site saw Astralis secure map point. Liquid put a a stop to Astralis' eight round streak, to to stop a A hit from from the Danes to put up their first CT round. It was a triple from the Danish star AWPer device to close out the map at 16-9 and pick up the series.
