Massive upset in the Upthrust Esports Gaming Fest Season 3 Grand Final

The Grand Finals of the Upthrust Esports Gaming Fest Season 3 saw FIREDUP Gaming take on Gods Reign with the latter looking to continue their dominance in the region and add more silverware to their cabinet.

The opening map of the Grand Finals was FIREDUP Gaming's pick of Mirage with Gods Reign starting on the CT side. Gods Reign picked up the opening pistol and it was a 4-0 start before FIREDUP got their first T round. FIREDUP managed to pull back the half as they went on to end the first half with a 8-7 lead, switching to their CT side.

ReApErMonsta stole a smoke defuse in a 1v2 to give FIREDUP the second pistol but Ph1NNN's 1v2 saw Gods Reign answer back with a force. Gods Reign's force win helped them take the lead of the map. It was a steamroll from Gods Reign after that as the hit both sites with furious pace to close out the map at 16-9. It was reV3nnnn on top of the scoreboard for Gods Reign, coming in with 24 frags, although this time majority of them were with the rifle on the T side.

Gods Reign's pick of Ancient was the second map as FIREDUP got things underway on the CT side with a 3v3 retake on the B site as ChAmP's dualies shut down Gods Reign. Gods Reign answered back yet again with a force buy as reV3nnnn's Scout opened things up in mid. The trio of ReApErMonsta, n1kace and ChAmP fought back to keep FIREDUP in the half and it was the CT side who eventually ended the first half with a 9-6 lead.

Gods Reign picked up the second pistol and after picking up the conversions against the full eco and first gun round, Gods Reign quickly got it to a one-round game before the guns came out on both the sides. A ReApErMonsta double opener at A saw FIREDUP get their first T round and raced to 12 before Gods Reign answered back and a reV3nnnn 1v1 to deny n1ckace a 1v3 on the B site saw Gods Reign make it 11-12. Ph1NNN's triple deagle at A site to shut down a quick FIREDUP attack saw Gods Reign hang on against map point to secure 12. 12 though was all Gods Reign could manage on their map pick as FIREDUP Gaming took the Grand Final to a third map after winning Ancient 16-12 with n1kace and ReApErMonsta ending the map with 28 and 22 kills each.

The final map of the series and tournament was Vertigo with FIREDUP starting on the CT side. A triple from RobbeN saw FIREDUP Gaming take the opening pistol. An Ember double opener at mid saw Gods Reign take the first round once they brought out the guns in round three. clouda's openers saw Gods Reign take the lead before RobbeN with a single saved AK along with upgraded pistols saw FIREDUP Gaming tie up the score at 4-4. L0ngBarrel and n1kace's stellar B holds saw FIREDUP Gaming end the first half with a 8-7 lead.

n1kace and ReApErMonsta turned around a 2v3 to give FIREDUP the second pistol and a L0ngBarrel triple saw FIREDUP see off a scary eco from Gods Reign. n1kace's 1v2 against another scary eco from Gods Reign saw FIREDUP start the second round with four in a row. A n1kace triple saw FIREDUP secure match, series and championship point and it was FIREDUP who stunned Gods Reign to secure Vertigo at 16-8 and win the Upthrust Esports Gaming Fest Season 3.

FIREDUP Gaming will take home the INR 40,000 prize money after winning the tournament while ROG Academy finished third, earlier in the day, taking down Invasion Esports 16-10 in the third place decider match.
