Lynn Vision sent home by The Mongolz
The third day of the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 kicked off with two crucial matches. While the Asian derby saw Lynn Vision take on The Mongolz to keep themselves alive in the event, Eternal Fire and GamerLegion were looking to book their spot in the Elimination Stage.
The Mongolz started their pick of Ancient with a big T-sided lead at 9-3 before closing out the map at 13-8 to start the series by drawing first blood. Techno stood out on Ancient with 23 kills. Anubis was an even more one-sided show as The Mongolz once again started with a big T side at 9-3 and closed it out quickly at 13-6 to send Lynn Vision home.
Overpass kicked the series off and GamerLegion showed by they picked the map following a comfortable 13-4 win with Snax leading from the front with 17 kills and a 1.78 rating. XANTARES and Wicadia answered back for the Turkish team in style on Inferno as Eternal Fire ran away with a 13-2 win to keep the series alive.
The series decider was Vertigo and it was as tight as it could get. Eternal Fire started with a two-round lead at the half before a back-and-forth second half saw Eternal Fire steal a 13-11 win as Calyx closed things out with a straight up smoke defuse in a 1v1 situation.
The win for Eternal Fire sees them book their spot in the Elimination Stage and although they suffered a loss, it isn't over for GamerLegion yet.
