TheMongolz qualify for Esports World Cup 2024

Rare Atom falls a step short of securing World Cup slot after a nailbiter BO3

In the Esports World Cup 2024 Asia Closed Qualifier Grand Final, TheMongolz locked horns against Rare Atom with a slot at the main event on the line. The BO3 kicked off on Rare Atom's pick of Ancient, where they could only muster 4 rounds on their T-side. As the sides switched, TheMongolz seized absolute command of the match, clinching a 13-5 victory.

Taking us to the second map Mirage, TheMongolz started off with a 2-0 lead, but Rare Atom regained control on their CT side, ending the half with an even score of 6-6. The game developed into a neck-and-neck affair in the second half, as the scores tied in regulations. However, after two rounds of overtime, Rare Atom closed out the map with a 19-16 win.

The third map took us to Inferno, which featured yet another close map. After securing a 6-6 half, TheMongolz switched to the CT side. However, Rare Atom prevailed initially in the second half, but TheMongolz caught up to them to tie the score once again at 12-12. A perfect CT side in Overtime followed by a 2k from bLitz sealed the deal for TheMongolz, as they seized a 16-12 win.

With the win, TheMongolz secures their place in the Esports World Cup 2024 and will be heading to Riyadh later this year.
