Skyesports Championship 2024 Group Stage will be a 'semi-LAN'
Indian tournament organiser Skyesports has confirmed that their upcoming $300,000 tournament, Skyesports Championship 2024 won't be adapting a full LAN format.
Skyesports states that the Group Stage portion of the event will follow a 'semi-LAN' format which will see the teams play from 'remotely set-up bootcamps' at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai, India. The Playoffs will move to the stage at the Taj Lands End hotel.
The 12-team event will see the team divided into two groups of six, where they will battle it ou in a single round-robin format with the top three teams from either group moving to the Playoffs.
The information received from Skyesports is in line with information Dust2 India had received from sources stating that the 12 teams will be given a practice room each at the hotel itself, from where they will play their Group Stage games while the Playoffs will be held at a hall/banquet area at the Bandra-based hotel.
The tournament will see international teams such as The MongolZ, Eternal Fire, ENCE, Aurora and BLEED amongst others head to Mumbai, India to battle it out for the $300,000 event between July 23 - July 28, 2024. Details about the ticketing for the event has not been revealed yet by the tournament organiser.
