Skyesports Championship 2024: Everything you need to know
The much anticipated Skyesports Championship 2024 kicks off tomorrow with some of the top teams in the scene right now taking stage in Mumbai, India. The opening round of the round-robin group stage kicks off with True Rippers, the Indian representatives at the event taking on The MongolZ. Later on we see decorated Danish IGL and four-times Major winner gla1ve in action in the ENCE-BLEED clash.
Originally set out to feature eight teams, new media and broadcast deals between the tournament organizer and foreign entities have made way for four additional teams. The MongolZ, Eternal Fire, FURIA, Aurora, BetBoom and Revenant had accepted direct group stage invites but FURIA's withdrawal paved way for BLEED, the runner-up at the EU qualifier.
Two groups accommodating six teams each undergo a round-robin iteration sending the top three teams from each group to the playoffs. The playoffs feature a single-elimination bo3 bracket with a bo3 grand-final.
