ESL bans Snap-Tap and similar features

The ban to only affect LAN events for the time being

ESL has taken a stance on the keyboard features that sparked a controversy earlier this month, banning the use of SOCD and similar features at their LAN events. The decision aligns with Valve's stance on the matter, as they have disabled in-game binds to prohibit any automated assistance on August 20th.

However, workarounds have been found to circumvent Valve's detection. Therefore, ESL will allow the use in online events for the time being, but will update the rule once detection and enforcement becomes possible.

The decision comes just in time before ESL Pro League Season 20, that kicks off on September 3rd, with 32 teams competing for a $750k prize pool in Malta.
