Sloppy Gods Reign fail to capitalise on strong start
Gods Reign faced Russian team SGGT in the Lower Bracket game at the ESL Challenger League Season 48 Asia-Pacific Playoffs with the Indian team starting strong but failing to capitalise on that which eliminated Bhavi_ and co. on the opening day of the Playoffs itself.
f1redup kicked off Gods Reign's pick of Anubis with a triple on the T-side pistol to give the Indian team the opening round and conversions against the eco and force buys saw them go 3-0 up before SGGT finally got their CT side going of the back of an A-site retake led by Hasi4. It was a dominant T side from Gods Reign with reV3nnnn's AWP and Ph1NNN and Bhavi_'s rifle work helping the Indian team start with a 10-round T side.
ZinGY's double helped SGGT pick up a much need pistol to kick off the second half and deffen denied R2B2 a 1v2 in the force to keep the Russian team alive. R2B2's double Deagle opener in a pistol buy, though, got Gods Reign going and the Indian team closed things out at 13-7 on another pistol buy with Bhavi_ and Ph1NNN cleaning up SGGT with Five-Sevens.
Mirage saw SGGT start with five consecutive rounds on their T side before Gods Reign on another low buy thanks to a Ph1NNN double at Connector got on the board. It looked like there would be a late resurgence from Gods Reign but they threw a 3v2 which helped SGGT go 9-3 up.

Sange denied reV3nnnn a 1v2 in the second pistol which was the final nail in the coffin for the Indian team on Mirage as SGGT closed the map at 13-5 to tie up the series 1-1. reV3nnnn and Ph1NNN were the only two players on Mirage from Gods Reign to hit double digit kills with 16 and 11 kills respectively in a poor outing from Gods Reign.
Another sloppy start on Inferno saw them put together two-rounds right at the end of the half to finish their T side four rounds. The second half pistol win helped Gods Reign tie up the score at 8-8 but as soon as SGGT got the guns out, they got back on the board and closed out Inferno at 13-9.
With the loss the lower bracket round 1 game, Gods Reign are eliminated from the ESL Challenger League Season 48 Asia-Pacific while SGGT move to round 2 and will take on The Huns.
