Shanghai Major: Elimination Stage teams

The Opening Stage of the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major has run it's course and had it's share of upsets. From the Asia RMR, it was just The MongolZ who survived, with Rare Atom going out after three consecutive losses. FlyQuest lost to MIBR in the 2-2 pool earlier today, crashing out of the Major.

After a dominant win against Rare Atom, The MongolZ carried their form into their next game where they took down MIBR. They followed it up with a 2-0 against GamerLegion, making it the Elimination Stage without dropping a single map.

Liquid was the other 3-0 team to go through after taking down FlyQuest 2-1, following their bo1 wins against their fellow NA teams Cloud9 and Wildcard. Brazilian teams FURIA and paIN breezed past their counterpart-Imperial, to book their Elimination Stage spots from the 3-1 pool. After their loss in the 2-0 pool against The MongolZ, GamerLegion brushed aside Passion UA, to advance to the next phase.

After taking down fnatic in the opening round, Wildcard suffered back to back losses against Liquid and FURIA. The NA team then took down Virtus.pro, who many believed would go through comfortably. Their win against Passion UA earlier today, confirmed their Elimination Stage spot. BIG's win against Complexity in the 2-2 pool today sent them forward.

Rounding off the list was MIBR, who started their campaign with a win against Virtus.pro in the opening round but went dwn to The MongolZ and Passion UA. With their backs against elimination, MIBR took down Rare Atom and FlyQuest, becoming the third Brazilian team to make it to the Elimination Stage.

The Elimination Stage of the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major starts this Thursday- 5th December 2024 with sixteen teams locking horns in a swiss bracket to determine the eight teams that advance to the playoffs where a single elimination bracket determines the Major champion. The opening game in the Elimination Stage will feature Asian representative The MongolZ taking on G2 at 08:30AM IST.
