FaZe show classic Playoffs form to send Vitality home
With their backs against the wall, it was the pathway for yet another classic FaZe comeback run as Karrigan's boys fought back against all odds to send Vitality home from the Shanghai Major 2024 and move into the semi-finals.
The opening map was FaZe's surprise pick of Nuke but it was the worst possible start for Karrigan and co. as Vitality's defence went 8-0 up before some impact from ropz pulled it back to a four-round half. ropz was the only one keeping FaZe in the game as Vitality ran through them to close out Nuke at 13-6 to draw first blood in the quarter-final. Spinx kicked off Mirage with a knife on frozen to deny the latter a smoke defuse which was followed by an eco ace from his compatriot, flameZ. FaZe fought back to put up an eight round CT half before closing out the map at 13-8. ropz started strong to give FaZe an eight-round CT half on the decider on Anubis and with the Estonian finding form, FaZe denied Vitality any chance of a comeback to steal a 13-7 win to reverse sweep the series 2-1.
FaZe will now take on G2 in a blockbuster semi-final clash while MOUZ, who took down The MongolZ, face Spirit in the other semi-final.
