Former employee calls out VICTORES SUMUS for pending payments
In another case of payment defaulting, Indian Counter-Strike team VICTORES SUMUS is the latest one to be called out for non-payment. An ex-employee of the organisation has come forward to Dust2 India to state that '5 months of dues' is pending with the organisation.
Nikhil Bhalla, who had been with 2EZ Gaming/VICTORES SUMUS for 11 months, started working with the organisation in July 2023 and left in June 2024. Bhalla alleges that the organisation has not cleared his salary from February 2024 to June 2024 and have been delaying the matter, whenever he has reached out to them. Bhalla, who knows the 2EZ Gaming management for almost a decade, held the role of Chief Marketing Officer at the organisation.
Bhalla has stated that he has been in contact with the organisation via various methods such as emails, WhatsApps and has even had face-to-face meetings, to resolve his pending payment issue. He says that the organisation has provided his various reasons such as being 'short on cash' for the delayed payments but there has been no reply from the VICTORES SUMUS management since October 2024.
Bhalla additionally adds that he has tried to solve the issue 'internally owing to his personal relation with the organisation and its people' but with nothing concrete coming from VICTORES SUMUS, Bhalla will be exploring legal options to solve the matter.
Dust2 India reached out to VICTORES SUMUS regarding the claims made by Bhalla, to which VICTORES SUMUS stated that all pending dues had been cleared and there was a delay of two months (earlier in 2024) due to the organisation rebranding but the owner himself cleared Bhalla's dues through cash.
Bhalla responded to VICTORES SUMUS' reply stating, he was paid, but not the full amount and hasn't had any contact with the organisation post October 2024.
2EZ Gaming was rebranded in May 2024, with the organisation taking up the name of 'VICTORES SUMUS'. The team is currently ranked #231 in the world and #20 in the Asian Rankings as per HLTV. VICTORES SUMUS has been one of the only Indian organisations who have remained in the Indian Counter-Strike scene and have been regularly in the server, participating in not only Indian events, but also regional events such as the M88 Mansion League, ESEA League Season 51, GG LEAGUE Pro Series amongst others.
