Media: Skyesports called out for payment delay again

Skyesports reportedly hasn't paid teams for Skyesports Masters 2024

In another controversial moment for Indian tournament organiser Skyesports, current CPH Wolves coach ToH1o, has called out the Indian TO for payment delay with regards to the Skyesports Masters 2024.

ToH1o stood behind Gods Reign earlier this year at the Skyesports Masters 2024, when the Indian team played the event from Jordan. ToH1o posted on his X account that he is yet to receive his prize money for the event, which ended in April 2024. Gods Reign had finished in 7-8th position in the event and was supposed to take home $15,000. ToH1o highlights that even after it being more than 7 months from the event concluding, he hasn't received his renumeration.

This though, wouldn't be the first time that Skyesports has been called out for payment delays as multiple players who participated in the Skyesports Masters 2023 had spoken out about the delay in payments with regards to the tournament. Pakistan's Team Shush had also revealed in July 2024 that they hadn't received their prize money at the time, for the Skyesports Souvenir 2023 event, which took place in September 2023.

The Skyesports Masters 2024 was supposed to be a LAN event in India with teams such as Liquid, NIP, ENCE and BIG invited but Skyesports moved the event online in the 11th hour with Liquid withdrawing as well. Gods Reign participated in the main $345,000 event as the Indian representatives and played from Jordan while the rest of the teams played from Europe, and finished in last place after going down to NIP and BIG in their tournament campaign. Aurora had won the event, beating OG in the Grand Final. Aurora won $105,000 while OG won $70,000.

OG's current Head of Esports Mike Schwartz also replied to ToH1o's post saying they are yet to receive their prize money either.

Dust2 India has reached out to the players from Gods Reign who have confirmed that they are yet to receive their prize money for the Skyesports Masters 2024.
