XO stun Rare Atom in shocking semi-final result
It was not the semi-final the home fans at eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024 were looking forward to as home team and the highest ranked team at the event, Rare Atom were sent packing from the $100k event with a whimper by XO, who not only beat the Chinese team but dominated them to lock in a Grand Final spot.
XO started their pick of Dust2 with four on the trot before Rare Atom could manage their first CT round and the Chinese team could put together only two more CT rounds post that, which were the final two rounds of the half as XO put in a dominant T side led by Polbandana, 0SAMAS and 0scar. Rare Atom did manage to pick up the second half pistol and conversion but that was all as XO closed things out quickly to start with a big 13-5 win.
Inferno started with another big start from XO, as they went 5-0 up on their defensive side, not letting Rare Atom put the bomb down more than one time in the opening five rounds. Rare Atom pulled back four rounds on their T side but it was all XO as Polbandana continued to impress, coming in with a big 1v2 on the B site to put the final nail in the coffin as XO shut down things on Inferno at 13-4 to seal a dominating and commanding 2-0 series win.
