MiQ stars as ATOX locks in Grand Final spot at eXTREMESLAND 2024
ATOX secured their place in the Grand Final of the eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024 after taking down JiJieHao in the semi-final in a close fought encounter, which could have easily finish 2-0 in the other direction as well.
Ancient was the opening map of the series, which was ATOX's pick and despite starting with the opening pistol on their T side, it was the JiJieHao shutdown as the Middle Eastern mix squad shut down attack after attack on both sites to take an 8-4 lead. A much needed pistol on their CT half saw ATOX bring it to a one-round game. A m1N1 triple which saw JiJieHao execute a clinical B split got them onto double digits.
MiQ fought tooth and nail to keep ATOX in the game and an ace from the Mongolian saw ATOX retake a 4v2 to tie up the score at 10-10, clutching a 1v3 on the B site. And quite poetically, it was MiQ closing out the map for ATOX with a straight up smoke defuse quite literally right under the nose of dennyslaw in a 1v1 at 12-10 to see the Mongolian squad steal a 13-10 win.
ATOX's defence got things going on Dust2 and on a map which JiJieHao have looked at home and comfortable, the Middle-Eastern mix team had no answer to get through the defences of ATOX, which saw the Mongolian side take an 9-3 lead. dobu's 1v2 saw ATOX hit double digits instantly but ISSAA and some late impact from dennyslaw saw JiJieHao put up a stronger fight on their CT half, it was ATOX taking the win at 13-7 to secure the semi-finals 2-0.
ATOX will now face XO in the Grand Final of eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024.
