Big W scrapes past VICTORES SUMUS to book Grand Final berth
While the opening semi-final did not see much action due to technical issues, the second semi-final saw all three maps as Big W held on against VICTORES SUMUS in a lengthy and arduous series to lock in a Grand Final berth against Orgless5 at the Dust2 India - 1xBET Masters 18.
VICTORES SUMUS kicked off their pick of Nuke in style with five consecutive T rounds before Big W finally came in with a retake on the A site to get on the board as CycloneF brought the impact. It was CyloneF, himself, keeping Big W in the game as VICTORES SUMUS ended the opening half with a two round lead. CycloneF along with some late impact from Crazy_Gamer pulled Big W to overtime, where a flawless T side saw them steal a 16-12 win with CycloneF topping the scoreboard on Nuke with 33 kills.
Ancient was a back-and-forth affair right from the get go as a trade of rounds saw Big W take a slender two-round lead at the break on their T side before VICTORES SUMUS seemed to have done just enough to pip the map in the final round of regulation as BENZENE's triple opener set up a 5v2 for them but SeeK and hattygOD turned around a 2v5 with hattygOD sticking it in a 1v1 situation against arakyN to push the map to overtime. After a lenghty scrap between both squads, it was VICTORES SUMUS managing to push the series to a third map as BENZENE's 33 kills and arakyN's 30 kills saw them edge out Big W at 19-17.
The decider on Anubis was a messy affair which saw neither team be able to gain momentum until Big W on their T side right at the end of the map picked up a couple of rounds on the trot which saw them close out the game with a 13-9 win to take the series 2-1.
