"We just had to win our aim duels" - CycloneF
Big W took on DEFAULTER's Flashback Gaming in the opening game of the Skyesports Souvenir 2025 National Championship LAN playoffs. After an abysmal showing in the second half of Inferno, Big W pushed Flashback Gaming to the limits before going down 0-2 in the series. Flashback Gaming went up to the upper-final and Big W headed down to the lower-bracket.
After the game we got a chance to talk to Big W's CycloneF who gave insight into the game and talked us through what went wrong in both the maps.
CycloneF spoke about the second half of Inferno, explaining how Big W made some errors that are fixable and concluded by mentioning that the team just had to win their aim duels on the T-side.
After a somewhat competitive first half you guys just didn’t show up on CT-inferno. What do you think they did well and what do you think you lacked?
We were playing one dimensional Counter-Strike which was easy to read and we lacked positive intent as a team and we were not on same page which is something that can be easily fixed.
Despite the t-sidedness of Anubis, 4-8 is still a big disadvantage, how confident were you about your T-side Anubis at that point?
Four rounds were more than enough, if you see our T-side we were good and we had good reads but we missed our trades, we just had to win our aim duels on the T-side.
That round at 7-8, hatty and crazy out-brained them in a 2v3. Talk us through that sequence, what were the comms and who was calling the play?
They had better positions in the 2v3; once they got site hatty got a smoke which he used to smoked temple and peeked CT and took info after that it was clear that we would win because of the positioning as it was impossible to expect crazy inside the smoke.
