Inferno hammering makes sure The MongolZ avoid M80 upset

The MongolZ 2-1 M80

The MongolZ made sure to avoid an upset at the hands M80 as they started their BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 campaign with a win in their Group B upper bracket quarter-final.

M80's pick of Dust2 got things underway with The MongolZ's force-buy win seeing them go 6-1 up before a couple of scrappy T rounds saw M80 end the half with five rounds. A back-and-forth second half eventually saw The MongolZ close Dust2 at 13-11 with mzinho and 910 topping the scoreboard. Ancient saw M80's defence completely shut down The MongolZ with reck's 18-kill CT half seeing them go 8-4.

The MongolZ almost pulled it back but M80 managed to hold on for a 13-11 win to push it to the decider, on Inferno. Inferno though, was a one-sided affair as a 10-2 CT half saw the close out the series with a 13-3 win.
