NAVI stay alive at Cologne

NAVI hang on against OG

OG sent home

Natus Vincere (NAVI) took on OG in the elimination game at IEM Cologne 2023 as the two new rosters were fighting for survival. A three-map series saw NAVI come out on top at the expense of OG.

The elimination game got underway on OG's pick of Anubis with NAVI starting on the T side. A couple of s1mple multi-kills including a quad against the full eco saw NAVI got 3-0 up. An A spilt in the first gun round saw NAVI keep their lead clean and it was 5-0 start before a regali triple saw OG get their first defensive round. Relentless A hits, as NAVI found a weak spot in OG's defence saw them end their T side with a 11-4 lead.

A FASHR triple including a double opener at mid saw OG take the second pistol and it was four in a row to start the second half. It was an Aleksib triple hold at B that got NAVI their first CT round and quickly got map point at 15-8. OG managed to string together a couple of rounds as it seemed like they might take it to overtime but iM's 1v2 saw NAVI secure the map at 16-13. It was b1t and iM on top of the scoreboard with 23 and 22 kills respectively.

Multiple impactful rounds from iM was the decider on Anubis

OG picked up the pistol with nexa stepping up with a triple but NAVI responded with the force buy to tie the game. The rounds kept trading until NAVI went on a streak and a s1mple 1v1 secured the half at 8-6. OG kept themselves alive with a 7-8 half as k1to's triple saw them keep it to a one round game.

OG tied the game after picking up a clean second pistol on Inferno and then made it five in a row to lead at 12-8. F1KU held on in a 1v2 that saw OG turn around a 3v4 post plant on the B site to build a five round lead. It was finally a b1t and s1mple A hold that put NAVI on the board but a k1to 1v1 on the B site again saw OG convert a man disadvantage situation to secure 14. A k1to double opener in Banana saw OG secure map point and they closed the map on an upgraded pistol buy to go 16-11.

Not only was his T side calling near-flawless but nexa stepped up with the frags too on Inferno

The series decider got underway with NAVI starting on the CT side and a s1mple and Aleksib double saw them take the pistol. b1t got a quad mow down on the A site against pistols and a jL double with the MP9 in Cave in the first gun round saw NAVI start with a 3-0 lead. A FASHR double entry on the B ramp saw OG pick up their first T round in round five. NAVI began to run away with the half at 9-4 but a F1KU triple in a 3v5 situation saw OG get their fifth as they ended the half with a 5-10 deficit.

iM's double opener on the pistol saw NAVI pick up the second pistol and it was a 12-5 lead to kick things off before OG stole a round on the B site with pistols thanks to a FASHR double opener on the five-seven. OG made it three in a row but an 1M 1v1 against regali on the B site saw them get back on the board. NAVI turned around a 3v5 to secure map point thanks to a critical double kill from iM and NAVI closed Ancient at 16-10 to keep themselves alive in Cologne.
