TheMongolz a step away from booking ESL Challenger Atlanta 2023 berth
The first game of the upper bracket final of the ESL Challenger Atlanta 2023 Asia Closed Qualifier saw TheMongolz go up against TYLOO with the Chinese team's pick of Overpass being the opening map of the BO3 series.
TheMongolz started with a 8-4 lead on their CT side and made sure to keep TYLOO at bay as they picked up the map 13-11 to draw first blood.
On their own pick of Mirage, it was an absolute hammering, starting with a 10-2 half on the T side and after securing the second half pistol, TheMongolz closed it out at 13-2 and secured the series 2-0. 910 had a strong series, dropping 40 kills across the two maps and had a rating of 1.71.

The lower bracket final saw Newhappy take on ATOX as both teams were fighting to stay alive.
Anubis, Newhappy's pick was the series opener and it was ATOX starting with an 8-4 lead on their T side. Newhappy put in a similar score-line on their T side which took the game to overtime but it was the Chinese team who managed to wrap it up quickly in overtime at 16-13.
ATOX started their own pick of Ancient with another 8-4 lead on the T side and this time they managed to close it out in regulation at 13-7.
Newhappy started strongly on the series decider on Mirage with a 8-4 lead. Newhappy were cruising to an easy win before ATOX got six in a row that made it look like we were going to overtime. The Chinese team though hung on at 13-10 to take the series 2-1 and eliminate ATOX.
Newhappy will now face TYLOO in the consolidation final and the winner of the Chinese derby will take on TheMongolz in the Grand Final as the three teams battle it out tomorrow to book their ticket to Atlanta.
