Upthrust confirms CS2 prize pool for The Multiverse Series
It was previously observed that Upthrust Esports Multiverse Series 2024’s event page on Liquipedia showed that the BGMI side of things carried a prize pool of ₹9,50,000 INR after the combined prize pool for the event was announced as ₹10,00,000 INR.
This meant that the Counter-Strike 2 event was likely to carry a substantially lesser prize pool of ₹50,000 INR and with a post on X, Upthrust confirmed the same. The Indian CS community showed discontent with the split, pointing out the extreme imbalance.
While the BGMI part of the event is underway, Upthrust Esports are yet to reveal more specifics regarding the CS2 event.
The previous iteration of the event also carried the same ₹50,000 INR prize pool. The event held an open qualifier, sending 8 teams in the league stage. Top four teams from the league stage battled it out in a double elimination playoffs. KingPins have won the previous Multiverse Series CS event.
Multiverse Series 2024 will be streamed on loco.
