Gods Reign suffers loss to Myth Avenue Gaming
Gods Reign were up against Myth Avenue Gaming in their PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Asia RMR Closed Qualifier upper bracket final, as the Indian team were 2 wins away from booking their spot in the Asia RMR.
The BO1 was taking place on Ancient with Myth Avenue Gaming (MAG) starting 5-0 on the T side before a Ph1NNN multi-kill on the A site gave Gods Reign their first round. A Crazy_Gamer triple and f1redup double saw Gods Reign make it three in a row and Gods Reign continued with the momentum to tie up the score at 5-5. It was MAG though who secured the final two rounds of the opening half to close the half at 7-5.
MAG secured both pistols on Ancient and after converting against the eco and the first gun round, they hit double digits as they were running away with the map. A f1redup 1v1 against WasteOfAmmo on the A site saw Gods Reign take their first T round. Gods Reign got back-to-back rounds before going down to a pistols that netted MAG their 11th. A couple of multi-kills rounds from f1redup and clouda and a crucial Ph1NNN 1v1 against Derek saw bring it to a one round game. The Indian team eventually tied up the game at 11-11 but a brawl on the B site saw MAG secure match point and they hung on for a 13-11 win.
While Gods Reign might have gone down to MAG, they aren't out yet will have one more chance to make it to the Grand Final through the Consolidation Final, which will be held later on today.
