Grayhound pip ATOX to inch closer to Major spot
While their compatriots booked a spot in the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024, ATOX were also looking to join The Mongolz and their first hurdle was the Lower Bracket Final of the Asia RMR against Grayhound.
ATOX's pick of Inferno was a one-sided affair as the Australians started with a 10-2 half and eased their way to a 13-2 win to draw first blood in the series. It was the INS and aliStair show on Inferno as the duo ended with 21 and 19 kills respectively.
Grayhound started Ancient with a big 7-2 lead before kabal and dobu pulled things back for ATOX to keep it a 7-5 half in the Australians' favour. After picking up the pistol on their T side, ATOX went on to take the lead of the map at 8-7. A Vexite quad-kill got Grayhound's CT side going and with their captain dexter having a strong map Grayhound looked set for a 2-0. ATOX though managed to take the map to overtime and eventually hung on to close out the map in second overtime at 19-17 to take the series to the decider.
Vexite and dexter helped Grayhound start the series decider on Anubis with a 2 round lead at the half break before quickly running away with the map at 13-5 to pick up the series 2-1.
Grayhound send ATOX home from the Asia RMR and will now face Lynn Vision in the Consolidation Final with the winner of that game qualifying for the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024.
