XigN has parted ways with NKT

Future for Thai organisation unknown

A report by Dust2.us' Senior Editor Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore has revealed that South Korean player Hyun-Pyo 'XigN' Lee has 'stepped down' from the Thai organisation NKT in May 2024.

XigN has been apart of NKT since May 2021 and the moves marks the end of a three-year period with the organisation. Post his departure from NKT in May 2024, XigN has been seen playing with BnTeT for Bigetron, but it is not known yet whether he has signed for the organisation or was just standing in.

The report states that there are rumours that NKT, who haven't been active since their Esports World Cup 2024 Asia Open Qualifier, where they finished 3-4th, have been facing issues to pay their players and keep them on the payroll. As per the report, NKT's owner Kittiphat Ratanavijai has also, apparently, not been in contact with the players which has added to the confusion.

NKT were also present for the eXTREMESLAND 2023 LAN earlier this year, where they finished 3-4th. NKT won the MESA League Season 3 in January 2023, where XigN ended the event as the top rated player (1.23 rating).

The Asian team also had second place finishes in 2023 at the Perfect World Arena Premier League Season 4 and the XSE Pro League 2023 Finals.
