Valve's Pre-RMR rankings update now out
As the competitive Counter-Strike 2 scene gears up for the RMRs leading up to the Perfect World Shanghai Major, Valve has released its final Regional Standings update yesterday (15th October 2024). This update is crucial as it sets the stage for the upcoming RMRs, which kick off on 11th November 2024.
The latest rankings will determine how teams are seeded and who they'll face in their opening matches at the RMRs. The MongolZ have emerged as the top seed in Asia, showcasing their dominance in the region with an impressive 1622 points. This puts them in a strong position as they prepare to face Alter Ego, who squeezed into the eighth spot with 636 points, in their opening match.
An Australian derby is on the cards as FlyQuest, securing the second seed with 1317 points, will be pitted against TALON in their opening round. The third and fourth seeds, Rare Atom and Lynn Vision, are closely matched with 873 and 848 points respectively. They'll be facing off against GR and DRILLAS in their initial matches.
The Asian RMR will kick things off with an eight-team double-elimination bracket. Only the opening matches will be bo1s, with subsequent games adopting a bo3 setting. Three Major slots are up for grabs through the Asian RMR.
NAVI has secured the top seed in European RMR A, thanks to their consistent performance throughout the year and G2's impressive showing at the recent BLAST Fall Final has boosted them to the #1 seed in European RMR B. FURIA's strong performance in Rio has given them an edge over Liquid, securing the top seed in the Americas RMR.
