Disturbing chat surfaces from LuckyOwl's FACEIT game

Bharat Ascend cuts ties with the perpetrator

Trigger Warning: VA/VH

LuckyOwl, a familiar name in the Indian esports community took to X recently, showering light on an incident that occurred in one of her FACEIT games involving Chwamiki "Head" Lamarr. The latter might sound familiar as he was featured on Bharat Ascend's recent events as a caster.

LuckyOwl had queued for a FACEIT game with her friends when she met Head and a few others in the enemy team. Her screenshots on X show the caster using derogatory language and hurling sexist insults at LuckyOwl and her teammates as the rest of Head's team joins the bandwagon, continuing the disturbing interaction with more and more deragatory phrases.

The female Counter-Strike semi-pro added to her thread on X, pointing out that one of the perpetrators was a caster for Bharat Ascend, a tournament organiser who recently entered the competitive Counter-Strike space.

Bharat Ascend was quick to act on the issue, issuing a public statement on X just hours after LuckyOwl's original post. Mentioning that the organiser would cut all ties with the perpetrator, they went on express their discontent towards the entire interaction and condemned the behaviour while assuring that these sorts of incidents would not be tolerated at all.

As Bharat Ascend Esports, we firmly stand against any form of misconduct; we do not condone, promote or accept any such behaviour from any of our associates. We remain committed to fostering a safe and supportive esports ecosystem in India.
Bharat Ascend's spokesperson

In a conversation with Dust2 India, Bharat Ascend revealed that an in-depth investigation was carried out after hearing from LuckyOwl and her friends who were a part of the lobby which resulted in immediate termination of Head's involvement with the organisation.

I usually don't indulge in such discourse and unfortunately she fell victim to it.
Chwamiki "Head" Lamarr

After Bharat Ascend issued a statement on the issue and cut ties with Head, the latter took to X, in what one can derive is his attempt at apologising for the aforementioned interaction. The post begins with Head expressing his regret and apologising for his "profanity". While he made his apologies for "offending" LuckyOwl, he seemed to be more concerned about "putting Bharat Ascend at stake".
