The MongolZ rack up big numbers in Shanghai Major's Opening Stage
Considering their recent form, The MongolZ were among the teams that were talked about the most, coming into the Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major's Opening Stage. Their wins at Thunderpick World Championship and YaLLa Compass earlier this year, set the bar high for The MongolZ and they sure did deliver.
After a dominant win against Rare Atom, The MongolZ carried their form into their next game where they took down MIBR. They followed it up with a 2-0 against GamerLegion, making it the Elimination Stage without dropping a single map. Along the way, The MongolZ's individuals stacked up impressive numbers.
Only four players exceeded a HLTV rating of 1.50, all of them belonging to The MongolZ. Securing a HLTV rating of 1.63 across four maps, Senzu was the highest rated player in the Opening Stage followed by his teammates mzinho, Techno and 910 who put up ratings in excess of 1.50. Four out of the top five highest rated players in the Opening Stage come from The MongolZ.
MIBR's insani had an amazing Opening Stage as well, putting up a HLTV rating of 1.45 across eight maps in MIBR's deep run with a K-D difference of +42, the highest in the phase. His explosive performance saw him put up the highest damage per round at 102.3.
Apart from the highest rating in the phase, Senzu also put up the highest KAST percentage at 94%, the highest percentage of multi-kill rounds at 59.7% and possessed the highest success rate in opening duels at 84.6%. 910 was the most impactful player of the phase with an impact rating of 1.65 and bagged the most AWP kills per round with 0..51.
