donk becomes the highest rated Major MVP

Unpredictability and unprecedented skill ceilings was a glaring theme in the recently concluded Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major both of which held right up till the last round of the last map of the grand-final. China's first Major saw an Asian team break into the top eight, the defending champions crash out with just a single win and several other things, but most of all- a stellar performance from donk.

donk was menace in the grand-final against FaZe, taking head to head duels against seasoned veterans like ropz, rain and frozen, emerging victorious and taking out FaZe's big guns in the process. The star Russian rifler has looked impressive throughout the Major, putting up ratings in excess of 1.50 in 65% of his games (9 out of 14).

His best map came when Spirit needed the most and was under the most pressure in the final map of the grand-final, when FaZe were fully in the zone, all locked-in. A 1.98 rating 30-bomb from donk, sealed the deal for Spirit, fetching the team their maiden Major. The record was previously held by s1mple for his showing at the PGL Stockholm 2021 Major.

donk was awarded the Major MVP and became the 17-year old became the youngest Major MVP by a good couple of years, beating kjaerbye's record. He also topped several leaderboards including ADR (101), Kills per round (0.99), Impact rating (1.75) and headshots per round (0.60).

donk is also the highest rated Major MVP with a mind-blowing 1.49 HLTV rating across 14 maps, going up against some of the best teams in the world at the moment. He now holds six HLTV MVP accolades under his name, the most held by a 17-year old. With four aces throughout the event, donk also broke the record for the most aces in a Major run, previously held by flamie and is now tied with s1mple for most aces at a big event.
