Round 1 exit for ACME WOMEN in the ESL Impact AP Winter Cash Cup

The women's division of the ESL Impact AP Winter Cash Cup 23 saw four teams locking horns in a single-elimination bracket, one of which was ACME WOMEN, a team featuring an Indian core with CrackShot, PinkDRip and Nightingale alongside VioletEver and Chloettw.

In the first round, ACME WOMEN met Powerpuff GALS in a bo3. Mirage was the first map and Powerpuff GALS got off to a good start which they eventually converted into an 8-4 lead. ACME WOMEN upped their game in the second half, giving Powerpuff GALS a run for their money, putting up six rounds in the second half.

Powerpuff GALS' lead in the first half, came to their aid as the Thai side limped across the finish line with a 13-10 score line but ACME WOMEN had built up momentum going into the second map. kanonz put up 24 frags for Powerpuff GALS in the first map with an impressive 117 ADR.

The second half took us to Vertigo where ACME WOMEN rode the momentum they had built up towards the latter part of Mirage to get off to a good start in the first half. ACME WOMEN took a 9-4 half in their favor but conceded the initial few rounds in the second half.

They managed to close the map 13-9, stopping Powerpuff GALS in their tracks to push the series into the decider. Chloe and Violet Ever fragged out for ACME WOMEN with the former putting up 25 frags at an ADR of 127.

The final map saw another 9-3 score line in the first half but this time in favor of Powerpuff GALS. Chloe did bring in her form from the previous map but ACME WOMEN could not contain Powerpuff GALS' firepower on Anubis as the latter walked away with a comfortable 13-3 win to wrap the series 2-1 and end ACME WOMEN's ESL Impact AP Winter Cash Cup 23 run.

Powerpuff GALS came face to face with Anpanman in the final who had taken down the Mongolian side Mars with a 2-0 score line in the opening round. kanonz was a consistent performer for Powerpuff GALS throughout the series with 100+ ADR showings in all three maps but Anpanman looked better as a team as nearly everyone chimed in and took down Powerpuff GALS, coming back from their 0-1 deficit to wrap the series 2-1 and win out the ESL Impact AP Winter Cash Cup 23.
