Gods Reign won Skyesports Souvenir 2025 National Championship

"We've played more scrims on Train than Dust2" - Bhavi

Gods Reign took down VICTORES SUMUS 2-0 in the grand-final

Gods Reign took on VICTORES SUMUS in the grand-final of the Skyesports Souvenir 2025 National Championship today and emerged victorious, marking their first title win of the year. After a dominant showing on Train, Gods Reign showed resilience on Train, mounting a late game comeback to close the map 13-11 and wrap the series 2-0.

After the game we got a chance to speak to Gods Reign's IGL Bhavi who shared how Train was added to the team's map pool and spoke about their recent performances on Dust2. Bhavi also went on state that Gods Reign had more scrims on Train than on Dust2 in the recent past.

We saw strong performances on Train from Gods Reign throughout this event, who pushed for Train to be a part of your map pool?

I think it was me, because we did not have a big map pool before Train. We only played Ancient and Anubis so I knew we needed something new in the map pool that we could pick, so yeah, that's how Train ended up on our list.

You've given strong Asian teams a run for their money on Ancient, do you think Train could be another map like that?

Hopefully. Yeah I would not say that Train is not our strongest map but have good experience on Train. We've played more scrims on Train than Dust2 so Train is like a go-to map for us now but it still isn't our strongest.

You guys came back from a big deficit on Dust2, what did you do right towards the end?

We didn't do anything honestly. We used to play Dust2 a lot, we had some practice. We haven't scrimmed a lot on Dust2 in the recent days so we were picking Train and some players forgot some things, that's why our Dust2 was really sloppy. We were just running around and we weren't complimenting one another.
