"We're just going at it the wrong way" - cara
After their loss to Marcos Gaming, Medal Esports are 0-4 in the tournament, yet to taste victory as they await the arrival of their teammate. We got a chance to talk to cara, the IGL of Medal Esports, who also missed out the initial matches in the tournament and here's what he had to say.
Hard luck, 0-4 in the tournament so far, what are your plans going forward?
"A change in mindset and hopefully a change in setup, I think we're just a bit uncomfortable at the moment. We're just going at it the wrong way, it's unfortunate with all the roster shuffles and trying to figure out what works, we don't have our main 5 yet."
You joined the camp recently, how are you fitting in? How’s the chemistry?
"The thing is we go into every match as prepared as we can, given the time limit. Everyone's friendly, we're going into games with a positive mindset, we're not tilted and there's no language barriers and stuff."
You found it difficult to put up rounds on both Overpass and Ancient, what do you think went wrong?
"I personally think that our confidence is a bit screwed right now and no matter what we prepare, nothing seems to work. For the next game or at least until Tony comes, we need to cut loose and just play the game. Unfortunate that we cannot play the game much right now, we have to travel to cyber cafes, setups aren't as comfortable as it should be. All our game plans and prep just doesn't seem to work out."
Do you think you guys can turn it around once Tony arrives?
"There's still a chance, there are 10 more games. Calculating everything, if we win 8-10 games, I think we can still make it to LAN. I am confident in my team, the team which we were practicing for the tournament and unfortunately we haven't been able to play our main 5 till now, 4 matches into the tournament. I'm not sure when Tony will join us, hopefully soon but I think we need to get 1-2 wins before that happens to have a good chance at coming back into the tournament."
