Indian teams falter on the opening day of IEM Chengdu Asia Qualifier 1

All Indian teams knocked out on the opening day of IEM Chengdu Asia Qualifier 1

With the IEM Chengdu Asia Open Qualifier getting underway today, we saw a host of Indian teams including the likes of Gods Reign, True Rippers, Enigma Gaming, Grayfox Esports amongst others take place as the teams were looking to book their spot in the China event.

Revenge Esports

Revenge Esports started their campaign with a relatively easy 13-3 win on Ancient against alanbaatar in the Round 1 game. Revenge Esports faced NewHappy in Round 2 with the BO1 taking place on Anubis. Revenge Esports were shut down with ease at 6-13 which ended their journey in the Qualifier 1.

Frag Theory

After getting a bye in their opening round game, Frag Theory faced 5 Hamsters in their Round 2 game with the BO1 take place on Overpass. Frag Theory were knocked out after a 10-13 loss.

Gods Reign

Indian powerhouse Gods Reign, like Frag Theory, got a bye in their opening game and then were up against Team bb in the second round game. Gods Reign secured a 13-3 win Overpass. Gods Reign were up against Drippy Lab in their Round 3 game and after starting 0-11, Gods Reign fought back but fell just short as they went down 11-13 on Anubis.

Enigma Gaming

Another Indian team starting with a bye was recently crowned Esportz Premier Series champions, Enigma Gaming who faced Drippy Lab in Round 2 and on Anubis, SpawN and co. suffered a 11-13 loss, which knocked them out of the Open Qualifier 1.

Grayfox Esports

Grayfox Esports faced Darrukhan5 in their Round 2 game and rite2ace and squad secured a 13-11 win on Nuke with the veterans, rite2ace and Marzil leading from the front with strong performances. In their Round 3 mach, Grayfox were sent packing after a 5-13 loss to Wings Up on Nuke.

2ez Gaming

After getting a bye in their opening game, 2ez Gaming faced Born In FarEast in Round 2 with the action taking place on Ancient. 2ez suffered a 8-13 loss which ended their hopes in the Open Qualifier 1.

True Rippers

Dust2 India - 1XBET Masters 6 champions True Rippers went up against CW on Ancient in the Round 2 BO1 and it was a 13-11 win for DEFAULTER and co. True Rippers were blown away by Rare Atom in Round 3, suffering a heavy 1-13 loss on Inferno which knocked DEFAULTER and his boys out.

Fact box

It's not all over for the Indian teams though, as the IEM Chengdu Asia Qualifier 2 is still there, set to take place on January 24, 2024, which will be there final chance to make it to the IEM Chengdu later this year.
