Gods Reign books NESC 2024 CS2 Grand Final spot

The NESC 2024 CS2 semi-final saw two of India's best in Gods Reign and True Rippers go up against each other in a BO3 encounter.

Gods Reign started True Rippers' pick of Inferno with the T-side pistol but True Rippers didn't let Bhavi and co. run away with a big half as they tied up the score at 6-6. A strong T side from DEFAULTER and his boys saw them run away with a 13-7 win with Gh0sTTTT topping the scoreboard with 17 kills as True Rippers dropped a solitary round in the second half.

Gods Reign got their pick of Ancient underway with a big 9-3 lead on the T half as captain Bhavi took matters into his own hand with a 12 kill half leading from the front. Gods Reign kept themselves alive with a solid defensive half with their captain leading from the front as they picked up Ancient 13-7.

Nuke was the decider with Gods Reign starting with a two round lead at 7-5 and while they picked up the second pistol as well, True Rippers answered with the force to make sure Gods Reign didn't run away with the map. The force buy wars continued as Bhavi and Ph1NNN's Deagles answered back for Gods Reign. Gh0sTTTT's AWP kept True Rippers in the game and they pushed the game to overtime, seeing off three match points. It was Ph1NNN with an well-timed lurk that helped Gods Reign close out the map at 16-14 and win the series 2-1. It was Gods Reign's captain Bhavi stepping up when his team needed him the most, dropping a 30 bomb on the series decider.

While the win sends Gods Reign to the Grand Finals, it's not all over for True Rippers as they drop to the Lower Bracket final and will face Grayfox for another shot at the Grand Finals.
