The MongolZ reverse sweep their way to the Shanghai Major
At Counter-Strike's first Asian Major, it was arguably Asia's all-time greatest team, The MongolZ becoming the first team to confirm their slot in the Major as they reverse swept DRILLAS in the upper bracket semi-final of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Asia RMR.
The MongolZ started DRILLAS' pick of Mirage with a sloppy defensive hold which let Woro2k's squad go 10-2 up but Techno led a valiant fightback for The MongolZ, which saw them fall agonisingly short, going down 11-13 in the opening map.
After going on the backfoot, The MongolZ were in no mood for upsets and smashed DRILLAS 13-2 on Ancient, which had the young mzinho step up. They continued their dominant run onto Anubis, starting with with a 10-2 half and wrapping up the series at 13-5 to reverse sweep the series 2-1.
While The MongolZ head to the Major, its not all over for DRILLAS as they have dropped to the Lower Bracket semi-final and will face FlyQuest tomorrow in the elimination game.
