ESL Challenger League Season 49 Asia - Pacific: Day 1 Recap
The opening day at the ESL Challenger League Season 49 Asia-Pacific saw 12 BO1s take place as the teams got their journey underway to book an ESL Pro League Season 22 spot. The opening day saw a couple of expected results and one big upset as the double round of BO1s got the action going.
Here's a quick look at the day's results.
THE 0 - 2 NomadS
The action kicked off with the opening BO1 between Russian squad THE and Mongolian side NomadS. Taking place on Dust2, it was a back-and-forth opening half before a flawless T side from the Mongolians saw them close out the map at 13-6.
The second BO1 headed to Anubis, where NomadS once again started with a two-round lead and it went down to the wire as the Mongolians won six out of the final 8 rounds to steal a 13-11 win to end the day for themselves with a 2-0 manner.

The biggest surprise of the day came as Chinese team Rare Atom faced The Huns from Mongolia in their two BO1s. Rare Atom were blown away on the opening BO1 on Inferno, going down 3-13, and then failed to convert a five-round CT half on Anubis as they fell 11-13 to go down 0-2 in a surprise result.

Just Swing and UR faced off in the Chinese derby with Just Swing's dominant T side on Inferno pushing them to a 13-8 win in the opening BO1 but it was UR answering back with a strong T side of their own on Mirage in the second game, as a 9-3 half saw them hold on for a 13-9 win to tie up the series 1-1.
