R2B2 put up a 1.34 rating series for Gods Reign

“Props to Rossi” - R2B2 on Gods Reign’s Tec9 A-hit on Mirage

Gods Reign waltz into the grand-final

The upper-bracket final at the Skyesports Souvenir 2025 National Championship saw Gods Reign take on Flashback Gaming. Both teams put up convincing wins in their opening games and contested for a grand-final spot.

Gods Reign swept Flashback Gaming 13-2 on Ancient and used the momentum to take Mirage and close the series 2-0 to book the grand-final slot. Flashback Gaming however will have another chance to make it to the grand-final from their lower-final match tomorrow.

After Gods Reign’s win against Flashback Gaming, R2B2 spoke to Dust2 India and walked us through their T-side on Ancient. He further went on to speak about Mirage’s PUG-like nature and gave insight into Gods Reign’s Tec9 A-hit on T-side Mirage which played a crucial part in pulling the team across the line.

Talk us through your T-side on Ancient. Even though it’s a strong map for both sides, you ran them down on the T-side, what did you guys do right?

So on the T-side, we didn't have to really do too much.
We just started out with our basic game plan, which we practice everyday and upon executing it, round after round things kept going in our favor. After that, we noticed that they weren't really contesting mid and we were just abusing the fact that they had that gap of information.
Later on, they changed things up a bit and won two rounds, I think. One round they came mid and contested us, but other than that, there was no setback for us. We were just playing our game and they couldn't figure it out.

All ten guys in the server today have been playing with and against each other for quite a while, how was it playing them on a PUG map like Mirage? Did it bring back some memories?

Mirage! Yeah, it’s just about who’s feeling the map and which team feels the game better on the stage. We’ve been working on our Mirage as well, we switched up a few things that weren’t working before and tried that here today. I wouldn’t say it was our best performance but we’ll work on our mistakes and try to be better.

That Tec9 A-pop at 8-10, how do you manufacture such rounds? You won a couple of similar rounds yesterday too!

That round was a result of what we were reading throughout the half. Props to Rossi because he called out exactly what was happening on A-site. We figured that they were dumping a lot of utility towards A-main early in the round and didn’t have enough utility to hold off A late rounds. Off of that, Bhavi made a call and it worked out for us. We all hit our shots and that was that.
