Cloud9 inflicts Brazilian heartbreak
Going into Cloud9's pick of Ancient, paIN Gaming started out on the CT-side and gave Cloud9 a run for their money as they put up an evenly poised score line of 7:8 at the end of the first half with biguzera holding off and denying important rounds.
With nafany calling a brilliant CT-side for Cloud9, HObbit and Ax1Le went above and beyond with HLTV ratings of 1.52 and 1.26, to close out Ancient 16:10. paIN Gaming could not keep up with Cloud9's impregnable CT-side defense.
In the 2nd map Anubis, Cloud9 brought forward their momentum from Ancient, starting off strong on the CT-side. skullz and NEKIZ however pulled off a couple of brilliant contact plays, off the back of which paIN Gaming ended the half 9:6, in their favor and even went on to win their CT-side pistol and followed it up with a crucial 2nd round.
Things looked bright for paIN Gaming but it was cut short by HObbit who often went on to catch his opponents with utility in their hands, thanks to his unpredictable, dynamic and aggressive playstyle on the T-side of Anubis and sh1ro who really stepped up with his T-side AWP.
HObbit and Ax1Le went on to clutch multiple 1v4's and 1v3's as Cloud9 closed out Anubis 2-0, eliminating paIN gaming from Brazy Party 2023 and going through to the semi-finals.
