Marcos Gaming faced the high-flying Carnival Gaming in the opening game of the Skyesports Championship 2024 India Closed Qualifier in the upper bracket game.
The latest addition to the competitive map pool, Dust2 kicked things off with Marcos Gaming starting on T-side. After an early 0-3 disadvantage, Carnival Gaming’s Ember picked up the Five-Seven and racked up three crucial frags in mid to derail Marcos Gaming’s execute, stealing a partial buy round.
Marcos Gaming brushed the bruise off, rallying their way to a dominant 9-3 half. Marcos Gaming kept it clean and closed out the map 13-3, not dropping a single round in the second half with KarmaN leading the charge with 20 frags.
The second map took us to Anubis where Carnival Gaming started on the CT-side and traded their way to an even 6-6 half, not letting Marcos Gaming exploit the T-sidedness of Anubis. A pistol and anti-eco win gave Marcos Gaming a momentary lead in the second half but SpawN and Ember stepped up with massive numbers to take Carnival Gaming over the line with a 13-8 score line, levelling the series at 1-1.
Carnival Gaming fumbled a 4-0 start on the CT-side of Ancient, giving away a 6-6 first half. Marcos Gaming's KarmaN and Resoluxe out-dueled the Ts to fetch a 9-6 lead early in the second half. A force-buy at 11-9 crippled Carnival Gaming, as Marcos Gaming closed out Ancient 13-9, winning the series 2-1 to maintain upper-bracket status.
