"Playing on LAN was good for us" - BENZENE

In their semi-final against True Rippers at the AMD GameOn 2024, VICTORES SUMUS marked their first LAN event with their current Counter-Strike roster. After putting up a valiant fight on the first map, taking things into overtime, VICTORES SUMUS fell apart in the second map, conceding a 0-2 series in the semi-final.

After their game, we got a chance to speak to BENZENE who shared his insights into the team's workings and their experience playing together. When asked about their first map's second half where the team lost momentum, BENZENE took it on himself while stating that their game-plan wasn't followed through.

On the CT side our game-plan was not followed through, which was on me honestly. I f*cked up big time on CT side of inferno.

When asked about their GameOn campaign and how it felt playing together on LAN for the first time, BENZENE showered positivity on the team while pointing out that this roster came together came together around three months back.

Our preparation was quite good tactically, it was just the LAN part that shook us a little. Personally I expected a lot from us considering that we are playing together since 3 months and we should be winning these matches any day.

BENZENE also affirmed that the organisation's support towards the players was "unwavering" and shared that they had a clear picture in mind regarding their future with VICTORES SUMUS. BENZENE's statement about VICTORES SUMUS was refreshing to hear considering how esports orgs have been shutting down their Counter-Strike divisions left and right throughout the year.

Our future with the org and roster is pretty clear and unchanged. No pressure from the org to change anything. The support from the org is immense and unwavering.

Concluding the conversation, BENZENE spoke about the positives that the team could take away from this event. He shared that it felt good for the team to get together for their first LAN and hoped for a better end-result in their upcoming outings.

Playing on LAN was good for us, we met each other for the first time and it was really great! Everyone with different experiences, sitting on TeamSpeak and talking and talking for hours on end. Hope we can do better next time.
