Indian derby to finalise Asia RMR Closed Qualifier Grand Finalist

True Rippers take on Gods Reign

Two Indian teams, one spot in the Grand Final and one spot for the Asia RMR. That's all that it has come down to. On the final day of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Asia RMR Closed Qualifiers, we have the two Indian teams, Gods Reign and True Rippers battling against each other in the Consolidation Final as they look to book a place in the Grand Final.

Gods Reign started the Asia RMR Closed Qualifier with two BO1 wins on the opening day, taking down ONi and Forward Gamingg to move into the upper bracket final. In the upper bracket bracket final, Gods Reign faced Alter Ego with and were blown away, managing just one solitary round in the entire match. The 1-13 loss has dropped Gods Reign to Consolidation Final and now they will face their fellow countrymen, True Rippers. Playing with Mcg1LLzZz as a stand-in due to R2B2 serving a VAC ban, Gods Reign have had to switch his roles to accommodate him into the roster. Playing in a support role, Mcg1LLzZz is Gods Reign's lowest rated player at the event currently and the former True Rippers player failed to get even one kill against Alter Ego.

Gods Reign will be looking to quickly put the Alter Ego thrashing aside and regroup before they face True Rippers. What works for them is the fact that this is BO3 encounter instead of a BO1, which is more up the alley of Gods Reign. Their primary AWPer, reV3nnnn's form is also a big plus for Bhavi and co. who will be hoping that he continues his strong form for the remaining games. Gods Reign will also be hoping that their star rifler, Ph1NNN continues the form he showed against Forward Gamingg. With having to play with a stand-in, Gods Reign will need their star core steps up.

On the other hand there is True Rippers, Gods Reign's old rivals. True Rippers had a poor start, suffering a shock loss to Niory in their opening BO1. On being sent to the lower bracket, they managed to take down DEWA United, Forward Gamingg and breezed past ONi in the lower bracket final. They have Gods Reign in the way between a spot in the Grand Final.

Like Gods Reign, True Rippers' top performer has also been their AWPer, with DayMake being the third highest rated player of the event. Similar to Gods Reign, True Rippers also have a new roster in the Asia RMR Closed Qualifier, with their new signing, Crunchy making his debut in their tournament opener. The Australian rifler has looked comfortable and been impactful as True Rippers transitions to a new era, after having moved Rossi to the in-game leader role recently as well.

While Gods Reign has gotten the better of True Rippers in majority of their meetings, they have never faced the new True Rippers' roster with Rossi's True Rippers having the edge in this scenario.

The Asia RMR Closed Qualifier Consolidation Final between Gods Reign and True Rippers kicks off at 14:30 IST and the BO3 match will be streamed on Dust2 India's Twitch channel. The winner of the Consolidation Final will move to the Grand Final, which will take place later on today.
